Issue/Requirements
Haas Formula One wanted to see the ledger balance of their expenses at a Vendor, PO, Packing Slip and Invoice level. They were struggling with understanding monthly expense by Department related to Vendor Purchases vs. direct ledger transactions. Out of the box AX 2012 did not provide this information without drilling into every transaction individually.
Resolution/Success
EmpowerLedger Power BI Model – This reporting model surfaces are custom view that extends the Ledger Voucher transactions and shows Vendor, Customer, Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, Pack Slips and Invoices. This allowed operations and finance to come together as it related to understanding the financials and the impact of operational purchases.
Next Steps and Budgeting
Haas Formula One was able to save significant time on both the Purchasing side and on the month end close processes. In addition, they like the deployment aspect so much that they were able to take users out of the AX and instead just set them up in Power BI. Once they had an easy deployment method they started uploading detailed budget forecasts and started created greater visibility and accountability across their organization.
